South Georgia Field Trip November 10-11

Course Overview

Picture
Georgia Studies is a survey course providing students with an overivew of the history, geography, and culture of Georgia.  We learn how Georgia's economy functions as a state, as part of a region,  and globally.  Students become aware of what it takes to become a productive citizen of Georgia, the USA, and the world.  Students use the textbook, supplemental materials, and current events to learn about their community.

About me. . .

I have been teaching for sixteen years, ten of those at Haynes Bridge.  I currently teach 8th grade social studies and language arts, however, in the past I have taught all three grade levels of science, language arts, social studies, and reading!  I love to play with my three dogs, read, and play tennis.  While college football ( ROLL TIDE!) is my favorite spectator sport, I enjoy all sports and have even completed a triathlon, gone hang gliding, and sky diving! I spend my summers in Montana and Utah hiking and enjoying the outdoors.

I have a BSEd from the University of Georgia and  I am a member of Alpha Omicron Pi.

St. Simons Island and Brunswick are places where I go kayaking in the marsh.
This is the view from Patty Canyon in Missoula, MT.  This is one of the places I love to hike!
